Scalp MICROPIGMENTATION FAQ's

About Scalp Micropigmentation:

Scalp Micropigmentation offers a non-surgical alternative to hair
restructuring treatments.

Specialised needles implant coloured pigment
into the scalp to replicate hair follicles, create densification and
camouflage hair loss.

It offers a successful outcome for many clients experiencing male and
female pattern baldness, receding hairlines, crow hair loss, and
long-term Alopecia. It can also be used to camouflage scars on the
scalp.

Is SMP the same as a tattoo?

SMP uses a specific type of equipment and ink.

SMP pigment is
expressly created to not discolor like regular tattoo ink.

Scalp
micropigmentation also doesn't go as far into the skin as a regular
tattoo and the SMP pigment expands differently in the skin.
SMP only goes into 2 layers of the epidermis, whereas tattooing goes
into 5 layers of the epidermis.

How much does Scalp Micropigmentation SMP Cost?

The cost of your treatment course will be discussed in your
consultation. In most cases, the price you are quoted is for a course
of usually 4 sessions, including your first treatment and follow-up
appointments where necessary.
Deposits are non refundable.

What is the consultation procedure?

The consultation appointment is designed for you to meet your
technician, discuss your desired outcome from the treatment, and ask
any questions you may have.
They will also discuss contraindications and your medical history, to
ensure the treatment is suitable for you.

Your technician will sketch in detail the proposed outcome with
cosmetic pencils – this sketch can be amended as many times as needed
until you are completely satisfied with the suggested result.

How long is each SMP Scalp Treatment Session?

The length of each appointment is dependent upon the treatment you’re
having. As every treatment we carry out is bespoke to each client,
your technician will discuss this with you at your consultation.

How long does Scalp SMP last?

Micropigmentation offers a semi-permanent result, and may fade over
time although due to the nature of the treatment, some pigment is
likely to always remain visible in the skin.

At ftg FUSION we offer a
12-month guarantee in the depth of colour from the time of your final
treatment in your course (T&C's apply).

You can prevent premature fading by avoiding unprotected sun exposure
(always wear a high SPF).

Is SMP Scalp Pigmentation safe?
ftg FUSIONs’ technicians are all fully qualified, certified and
legally insured to offer your treatment.

Our clinic is dedicated to aesthetic procedures and thus, we follow
strict health and safety guidelines, using new and sterile needles for
each client, and all machine parts are sterilisable.

The pigments used
are inert and inorganic.
ftg FUSION is registered with Harborough District Council.

Is the service offered, private and discreet?

We are located in a private clinic with onsite car parking. You can
rely on the discretion of our team from the moment you make contact,
always ensuring your experience with us is a comfortable one.
